A freestanding awning uses a load-bearing support frame instead of a facade fixing. Depending on the selected system, WAREMA awnings can be configured as one- or two-sided solutions. This makes a freestanding patio awning suitable for patios, gardens and selected commercial outdoor areas where wall mounting is not appropriate. Dimensions, anchoring and installation must be planned for the site conditions.
A freestanding awning is mounted on a load-bearing frame rather than directly on the building. The frame may be fixed with foundations or, for selected configurations, suitable ballast boxes. The required anchoring depends on the awning model, dimensions and local site conditions.
One-sided layouts shade one side of the frame. A double-sided awning can extend on both sides and is used where a larger continuous shaded area is required. Available configurations depend on the selected WAREMA system.
A freestanding retractable awning can be configured for patios, gardens and suitable hospitality areas without fixing the awning directly to a facade. WAREMA support frames are available for selected pergola and cassette awnings. The layout, anchoring and number of awnings are defined for the installation.
Application example: double-sided Perea P60 pergola awning on a freestanding frame with ballast boxes.
Application example: double-sided Terrea K60 cassette awning on a freestanding frame with foundations.
Depending on the selected awning and control system, WMS WebControl pro can provide operation by smartphone or tablet. A compatible wind sensor can issue a retract command when its configured threshold is reached. This supports operation but does not replace observing weather conditions or the product-specific wind limits. LED lighting and radiant heaters are available only for selected configurations.
The awning fabric influences colour, pattern, light transmission and the appearance of the shaded area. Available fabrics and designs depend on the selected awning model. A specialist retailer can coordinate the fabric with the architecture and intended use.
WAREMA manufactures compatible freestanding awning configurations to the planned dimensions. Permitted sizes, support-frame options and equipment depend on the selected model, installation conditions and technical documentation.
Warranty scope, registration and possible extension options depend on the selected product and country. Check the applicable terms for the awning, support frame and accessories before registration.
Availability varies by country.
