The Lamaxa L50 roof system offers three options for patios and gardens: rotating aluminium slats (L50), a glass roof (L50 View) or a retractable awning fabric roof (L50 Tex). Choose the roof that best meets your needs for light, shade and design.

With the Lamaxa L60 slat roof, you can control the amount of light on your patio to suit your preferences. The rotating slats provide pleasant shade and, depending on the design, protection from sun, wind and rain.

With the Lamaxa L70 slat roof, you can enjoy your patio in the open air or in the shade. Its radio-controlled slats can be extended and retracted, so you can adapt the roof to your needs.

The patio has long become an important part of the living space: a place to eat, relax or work. As an outdoor living room, it needs a suitable roof. A slat roof is a stylish and reliable option. It consists of a frame with individual slats that can be positioned to form a fully closed surface. When closed, the roof provides effective protection from intense sunlight or rain. Open the slats to enjoy the sun and good weather. You can adjust them to control the sunlight as you wish. A slat roof can even withstand snow.

WAREMA offers the L50, L60 and L70 models. A slat roof can stand freely on your property or be attached to your house. This lets you cover your patio or create a completely freestanding space in your garden. You stay dry while still enjoying the atmosphere of a patio.

There are several ways to control the slats, including extending, retracting and rotating them:

Remote control: As standard, you control the slats with a remote. Open or close the roof at the touch of a button.

App: Adjust the slats conveniently from your smartphone using the WMS app.

Voice control: In a smart home, you can control heating, lighting or roller shutters by voice. You can also operate your slat roof using your voice, for example via Alexa.

Every WAREMA slat roof is made to measure to your individual requirements. No two roofs are alike, and neither are their prices. For a non-binding price indication, you can use the WAREMA configurator to create your own configuration and request an immediate quote from a specialist retailer near you. This gives you a more accurate price indication based on your specific needs and preferences. You can also contact a local specialist retailer. They will be happy to help you find the right solution.

Depending on their size and the depth of the snow, Lamaxa slat roofs have different snow load capacities when closed. Your specialist partner will be happy to advise you and explain optional ways to increase the snow load capacity of your patio roof.

Our Lamaxa slat roof is visually striking and, above all, highly functional. We explain its many features in our slat roof guide:

Side awnings provide opaque vertical protection from sun, wind and weather.

An integrated drainage system reliably carries rainwater and melted snow away from your roof.

Charge your phone, switch on a reading lamp or watch TV: sockets installed in the outer posts ensure that power is always available.

LED strips: Create a relaxing atmosphere with dimmable light. RGB lighting also lets you add colourful accents at night.

Radiant heaters: Welcome friends onto your patio even in winter. Radiant heaters make it cosy and warm. Use the WMS dimmer to switch between three heat settings and dim the heater.

Sliding glass panels: Protect yourself from driving rain without obstructing the view.

Sliding wood or aluminium panels enhance the roof and provide additional privacy and weather protection.

The powder-coated aluminium components of WAREMA slat roofs can be coated according to the WAREMA colour range You are sure to find the perfect colour for your Lamaxa.

Still haven't found what you're looking for in the WAREMA colour range? Talk to your Lamaxa specialist partner near you. Other colours outside the WAREMA colour range can also be ordered on request.

The WAREMA colour range offers a wide variety of colours, surface textures and gloss levels. These options let you match the powder-coated aluminium components to the architecture of your building. The high quality of the coating ensures long-lasting enjoyment of our products. It is independently tested by the German Association for Piecework Coating (GSB). The surface coating with chrome-free pretreatment complies with GSB AL 631.

The following surface textures are available:

  • Satin gloss: This slightly glossy finish has a smooth appearance and excellent resistance to light and weather.
  • Matt: This smooth, matt finish offers excellent resistance to light and weather.
  • Fine texture: This textured finish offers attractive effects and excellent resistance to light and weather.

Highly weather-resistant powder coating:
This highly weather-resistant finish is ideal for all weather conditions. It retains its colour and consistent appearance for a long time, is less prone to chalking and is extremely weather-resistant. This coating is only available with matt surface textures.

Still haven't found the right surface finish? Other finish qualities and special versions outside the WAREMA standard are available on request. Ask a specialist retailer near you for advice.

Each country or federal state has its own building regulations. Some provisions specifically address when approval or a formal procedure is required and when it is not. You must check whether your Lamaxa requires approval. The property owner is responsible for clarifying this. The building authorities can tell you whether the structure requires permission.

You are responsible for clarifying and complying with applicable regulations, including required distances from property boundaries and local development plans, and for checking whether any other permit is needed. Also take account of any permit fees and the cost of preparing the ground, such as foundations. A qualified WAREMA Lamaxa specialist retailer will be happy to advise you as you plan your system.

Orientation to the sun: Position the Lamaxa slat roof so that the slats remain perpendicular to the sun's rays for as long as possible. This minimises direct sunlight while making the best use of daylight. The roof should also be sized to cover glass doors and windows as fully as possible without a post obstructing the view through them.

  • Tip for the Lamaxa L70 slat roof: To maximise the light entering the house in winter, position the retracted slat stack on the side away from the house if the roof stands close to the façade. Its shadow will then not fall inside the house.
  • Orientation for a south-, south-east- or south-west-facing patio: For a south-, south-east- or south-west-facing patio, the slats should be as parallel to the house wall as possible.
  • Orientation for a north-, east- or west-facing patio: For a north-, east- or west-facing patio, we recommend positioning the slats perpendicular to the house wall.

Alongside the orientation of the roof, the angle of the slats has a major effect on how much sunlight enters. Depending on their orientation, opening the slats can reduce or increase the amount of light.

  • Ideal Lamaxa slat roof orientation in summer (blocks light sooner): The orientation of the roof and the angle of the slats help protect the shaded area from sunlight coming from the south when the slats are opened.
  • Ideal Lamaxa slat roof orientation in winter (lets light in sooner): The orientation of the roof and the angle of the slats allow light in sooner.

The mains connection is located inside the slat roof. Connection cables for the ordered accessories are pre-assembled at the factory. For the slat roofs (L50, L60 and L70) and L50 Tex, only one on-site supply cable (5 × 2.5 mm²) is needed for the entire roof system. The L50 View needs a 3 × 2.5 mm² supply cable. Ask a specialist retailer near you for detailed advice on the on-site supply cable.

A Lamaxa is an open aluminium outdoor roof with a frame that is not guaranteed to be completely watertight. A 100% watertight structure therefore cannot be guaranteed. Depending on the design, it nevertheless provides protection from wind, rain and snow.

Please note the following:

  • Lamaxa has a drainage system that can handle most rainfall events.
  • When closed, the slats or glass roof protect the patio from rain.
  • Furniture and flooring must be suitable for outdoor use.
  • Raindrops may enter the covered area in the following situations:
    • rainfall heavier than the level tested by WAREMA*
    • opening the roof after a rain shower
    • rainwater splashing out of the drainage channel (a protective profile largely, but not completely, prevents this)
    • condensation forming in certain weather conditions
    • strong or changing gusts of wind
    • drops forming on the frame and posts

Note: Lamaxa fabric roofs

The Lamaxa L50 Tex fabric roof has a retractable awning fabric that is not weatherproof. It provides sun protection and must be retracted immediately when it rains. To prevent the fabric from getting wet, we recommend using a WAREMA control system that responds automatically to sun, wind, rain and time of day.

Lamaxa slat roofs achieve a maximum permissible wind speed of 13.4 m/s according to structural calculations under DIN 1991-1-4, “Actions on structures”. At wind speeds above 13.5 m/s, the slats must be set to one of two positions, depending on the ordered length:

  • Ordered length > 5.1 m: slats open at least 90°
  • Ordered length ≤ 5.1 m: slats closed

Lamaxa fabric roofs achieve wind resistance class 4 under DIN EN 13561; the maximum permissible wind speed is 13 m/s.

  • L60/L70: Both slat roof models can withstand loads of up to 350 kg/m².
  • L50: The Lamaxa L50 slat roof can withstand loads of up to 230 kg/m².

The tests were carried out without stabilising aids such as extra supports or tension cables. Such loads cause permanent deformation of the profiles. With smaller dimensions or additional posts, Lamaxa slat roofs can withstand considerably higher loads. Exceeding the maximum load capacity can destroy the slat roof.

Lamaxa L50, L60 and L70 are suitable for installation on roof terraces. The structural requirements and load ratings applicable to Lamaxa must be observed during planning and sizing.

The following criteria must be considered during planning:

  • Product weight
  • Load-bearing capacity of the roof terrace
  • Installation height
  • Mounting options (e.g. fixing to the substrate or weighted base plates)
  • Waterproofing layer (sealing of on-site spacer base brackets)
  • Wind conditions based on terrain category and wind load zone
  • Wind and snow load limits. Vertical fittings such as ZIP awnings, fixed walls, sliding glass systems and sliding shutters must also be taken into account.

To avoid damage from wind and water, the product must be controlled by weather sensors. A structural engineer, planner or architect must calculate and design the mounting structure for base plates, foundations, fastenings through the waterproofing layer or larger weighted plates. Larger base plates act as ballast in place of fixings.
