To extend the service life of your slat roof, its surfaces should be cleaned regularly or at least once a year – ideally after winter.
In more intense ambient conditions, such as those near industrial areas, busy roads, the coast (salty air) or swimming pools (air containing chlorine), more frequent cleaning may be advisable to prevent environmental damage to surfaces or an increased risk of corrosion.
Open the slats and remove leaves, twigs or other debris with a soft brush or whisk broom.
Rinse all aluminium components with clear water, ideally using a garden hose. Do not use a high pressure washer, as it could damage the surface.
Mix lukewarm water with a mild cleaning agent (for example, pH-neutral soap solution) and clean slats, posts, and crossbeams with a soft sponge or microfibre cloth. Rinse the surfaces again with clear water to remove soap residues. Let the roof dry completely before closing the slats again.

- Using the wrong cleaning agent or incorrect cleaning methods can damage the powder coating on the components or the mechanics – affecting both the functionality and durability of the product.
- Do not use high pressure washers, steam cleaners, abrasive sponges, scouring agents or aggressive cleaning agents or solvents, such as alcohol or petrol.
- Do not use cleaning agents containing chlorine on or near the product!
- Avoid excessive rubbing with a hard brush/sponge or hard object on the awning fabric! This may damage the surface.
