In a compatible configuration, the battery-operated emergency retraction set raises the external venetian blinds at approximately 1 metre per second. The system is designed with reference to the minimum opening-time requirements stated in DIN 18650-1 for automatic door systems.
Activation can be manual through an emergency push button or automatic through connected sensors. After activation, a DOWN command remains blocked until the system has been reset. Whether a window or door forms part of an escape route must be assessed and approved for the specific building project.
The system combines the external venetian blind drive with an auxiliary motor, battery supply and dedicated control unit. Trigger inputs can include an emergency push button, smoke detector, door contact or central fire alarm, subject to the approved control concept.
When emergency retraction is active, normal DOWN commands are inhibited. The control is designed to monitor defined faults, including power supply, cabling, battery condition and drive components. The system response and fault indication depend on the configured installation.
