The interactive, web-based software tool “WAREMA Sun Shading Planner” supports you when planning the appropriate sun shading system and is available to you in “Light” and “Expert” models.


With the Sun Shading Planner Light, the first step in planning sun shading systems should be even easier. For this we recommend the most common products for various installation situations. In addition, the product configurations are designed to be less comprehensive, so that the path to the first drawing of our product passes quickly. The Sun Shading Planner Expert model offers planning security and allows you to perform a complete technical examination of the product and detailed planning using a configurator. Drawings can be adjusted at any time.

 
BIM with WAREMA

BIM with WAREMA

BIM, or Building Information Modelling, will replace conventional building planning in the foreseeable future. This is because with the virtual construction before the actual build, you can detect errors, problems and disturbances in advance – and remedy them. As a result, you drastically reduce the risk of errors during real construction and typically guarantee that the building project is completed on time and within budget.

The WAREMA system concept

The facade is an important part of a functioning building and has a great impact on the room climate. Your physical characteristics have a decisive effect on the comfortable atmosphere – thermally and visually. As requirements for facades change constantly depending on the time of day and year as well as the weather and temperature, facades must be capable of a climate-active response to these varying demands. Movable sun shading products with intelligent control which vary the physical variables are the order of the day.

Combining these sun shading systems in such a way that the requirements for comfort and convenience can be satisfied with minimum energy use results in what we refer to as optimum systems, or the OPTI SYSTEM for short. Your perfect OPTI SYSTEM is made up of heat protection glazing, external heat protection, internal glare control and an intelligent control system.

Recommendations for your planning

Recommendations for your planning

Each building has individual requirements for sun shading. In order to simplify your planning, here you will find products for different applications.


Wind stability - Which products are especially wind-stable?
  • Window awning with ZIP guidance, type: V-FM, up to 24.4 m/s (Beaufort 9)
  • Wind-stable external venetian blind, type: E 93 A6, up to 25 m/s (Beaufort 10)

How do I shade very large surfaces?
The values provided refer solely to individual products. These products can also be coupled to shade larger surfaces. If you want to shade even larger surfaces, large slat systems will offer you large surface-shading solutions.
  • External venetian blind E80 A6 S: maximum area 25m²
  • Roller shutter: maximum area 10m²
  • Window awning with ZIP guidance with size 13 & 15 cover panel: maximum area 18m²,
    widths and heights up to maximum 6m
  • Vertical louvre blinds (standard design): maximum area 30m²

Safety and security - How can I increase the safety and security of my building?
  • Burglary protection: WAREMA security roller shutters make it difficult for intruders to break into your building – and are certified to wind resistance class WK 2.
  • Escape and emergency routes: The battery-operated emergency retraction set guarantees fast raising of external venetian blinds - based on the minimum opening time of automatic door systems to DIN 18650-1. WAREMA also offers an extensive range for lower-level requirements, e.g. the WAREMA emergency power supply kit, the SecuKit or the battery module UP.   • Fire safety: The WAREMA SecuTex fabric A2 is classified as non-flammable under DIN 4102-1 A2.

There are two products available to you for directly integrating into EIFS:

WAREMA Collection Assistant

Experience the range of colours and fabrics in the WAREMA collections. Use our Collection Assistant to shape your sun shading product to your wishes! We offer you a wide range of trend designs and allow you a high degree of individual creative freedom.

The calculation of the value for the protection against summer heat includes the total solar energy transmittance gtot for the combination of sun shading system and glazing or the shading factor FC.

The FC value is calculated from the ratio of the total solar energy transmittance of the sun shading system and glazing combination to the g value of the glazing: FC = gtot/g. The calculation of the FC value therefore also always takes the glazing into consideration – for this reason no fixed FC value can be given for a sun shading product.

Heightened requirements for the building envelope

Nowadays, energy-saving construction is becoming increasingly important. To keep transmission heat loss to a minimum, the heat transmission coefficient (U-value) requirements for the building envelope have become stricter,
thereby increasing the required thickness of the heat insulation layer. As the insulation layer thickness increases, however, so does the significance of thermal vulnerabilities in the building envelope. These vulnerabilities, also called thermal bridges, increase heat loss and can cause mildew. They must be minimised so as to prevent condensation and mildew from forming. Keeping heat losses as low as possible is also desirable.

Therefore, two different parameters must be considered for thermal bridges, the temperature factor and the heat loss coefficient.
